Search Tips
A Keyword search will find every occurrence of a word or phrase throughout the entire BAS Library whether it is in a Title, an Author name or if the word or phrase is mentioned in the text.
The Author field searches for articles by a particular author. You can search by typing in Last Name, First Name of an author or just the last name.
Use the Title field to search for a word or phrase that appears in a title or subtitle of an article across the entire BAS Library.
The Bible Verse search feature can be used to locate articles that either contain or reference a particular verse. Verses can be searched by typing in the full citation (e.g., 1 Kings 9:28) or by using the Society of Biblical Literatures standard Bible abbreviations (list can be found here) e.g, 1 Kgs 9:28.
Content type allows you to limit your search to particular aspects of the BASLibrary (e.g. images, feature articles, letters, etc.). If you would like to search more than one type, but not all you can hold the “shift” key down and click on the items.
Use the Publication search feature to either limit your key word, title, author or Bible verse search to a particular publication. A publication search can also be used to pull up everything ever published in that particular publication.
The From and To search fields can be used to limit the date ranges for the other search features (for instance if you are looking for a newer article, say published after 2010) or can be used on their own to search everything published between certain years.
