Bible Review

Echoing the Bard, we asked readers two issues ago, What’s in a name? We were referring not to the lovely Juliet, however, but to our own name (see Jots & Tittles, BR 16:04). Should our covers feature the somewhat mysterious letters BR, as they do now, or should we return to the more direct name Bible Review? While soliciting opinions on that matter, we also asked for your suggestions on how to improve the magazine. You did not disappoint us; we are considering numerous helpful ideas on specific article suggestions. In the meantime, on the matter of nomenclature, we hear you loud and clear: More than two-thirds of you (68 percent) want us to return to the name Bible Review; 20 percent want to stick with BR; and 12 percent, evidently aiming for a Solomonic solution, want a combination of both. Here is a representative selection of responses.—Ed.

Making the Mystery History

I prefer the title Bible Review to BR. There seems to be no prevailing reason why a magazine, whose future depends on a growing readership, should adopt an intentionally enigmatic title.
