Laurence H. Kant (“Earliest Christian Inscription”) teaches at Lexington Theological Seminary in Kentucky. A fellow of the American Academy in Rome and a historian of Judaism and Christianity, Kant is a founder of the Interfaith Center for Community and Spiritual Renewal. Gary A. Rendsburg (“Reading David in Genesis”) is the Paul and Berthe Hendrix Memorial Professor of Jewish Studies in the Department of Near Eastern Studies at Cornell University. His most recent book is The Bible and the Ancient Near East (Norton, 1997), a general survey of the biblical world coauthored with Cyrus H. Gordon. Rendsburg has participated in excavations at Tel Dor and Caesarea, and he is a frequent lecturer at Biblical Archaeology Society seminars.

Shlomith Yaron (“Sperm Stealing”) teaches at the Open University of Israel, specializing in biblical history and biblical literature. She has contributed articles to the Encyclopedia of the History of Eretz Israel and to the World of the Bible Encyclopedia.
