2 My heart has cooked up a sweet word.

I shall say my creations, O king,

My tongue the pen of a fluent scribe.

3 You are the most beautiful of all Man’s Sons.

Favor drips from your lips;

Therefore God has blessed you forever.

4 Gird your sword on your thigh.

Surpass by your glory,

5 and by your splendor prevail.

Overcome, mount for the sake of truth

And vindicate the poor.

Let your right hand shoot for you fearsomely

6 Your sharp arrows—

may nations fall at your feet—

into the heart of the king’s enemies

7 Your throne, God, is eternal

Your royal scepter is a scepter of straightness.

8 You love justice and hate guilt.

Therefore God, your god has anointed you.

Your attire is joy oil,
