Richard Elliott Friedman (“Taking the Biblical Text Apart”) holds the Katzin Chair at the University of California, San Diego, where he is professor of Hebrew and comparative literature. He is the author of numerous books, including Commentary on the Torah (HarperSanFrancisco, 2001), The Bible with Sources Revealed (HarperSanFrancisco, 2003) and the bestselling Who Wrote the Bible? (HarperSanFrancisco, 1987).

An expert on the early Christian apocrypha and their impact on art, David R. Cartlidge (“Simon Magus”) is the Beeson Professor Emeritus of Religion at Maryville College in Tennessee. He wrote, with Keith Elliott, Art and the Christian Apocrypha (Routledge, 2001).

Leonard J. Greenspoon (“The Holy Bible: A Buyer’s Guide”), author of BR’s popular Bible in the News column, holds the Philip M. and Ethel Klutznick Chair in Jewish Civilization at Creighton University, in Omaha. He wrote Max Leopold Margolis: A Scholar’s Scholar (Scholars, 1987) and has recently edited several collections of essays on contemporary approaches to the Bible.
