William H. Shea (“Jerusalem Under Siege”) was a scholar at the Biblical Research Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland, from 1986 until his retirement this year. From 1972 to 1986 Shea taught archaeology and the Old Testament at Andrews University in Michigan. A specialist in ancient Near Eastern studies, he is the author of Daniel 1–7: Prophecy As History (Pacific Press, 1996) and numerous other works.

A specialist in Hellenistic and Roman ceramics, Andrea M. Berlin (“What’s For Dinner? The Answer Is In the Pot”) holds a doctorate in classical art and archaeology from the University of Michigan and teaches in the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies at the University of Minnesota. She is the coauthor of Excavations at Tel Anafa (Journal of Roman Archaeology, 1997).
