This is an unusual book in several respects, starting with its author and its contents.

The author of the book is an antiquities dealer, a member of that most reviled of professions. And the subject of the book is mostly material that has been acquired on the vilified antiquities market. Yet few scholars of ancient Israel will want—or can afford—to miss the treasures displayed here.
