Chaim Ben-David (“Golan Gem,”) is head of the Land of Israel Historical and Archaeological Studies at Kinneret College on the Sea of Galilee. He has conducted many archaeological surveys in the Golan Heights and more recently has excavated the ancient synagogues at Deir Aziz and Umm el-Kanatir.

Suzanne F. Singer (“Rising Again,”), a long-time managing editor of BAR and the Biblical Archaeology Society, is now a contributing editor. She has written numerous articles for BAR, as well as for BAR's now-defunct sister magazines, Bible Review and Archaeology Odyssey.

Gabriel Barkay (“Is a Piece of Herod’s Temple in St. Paul’s Cathedral?”) teaches in the Martin (Szusz) Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology at Bar-Ilan University and is a leading Jerusalem archaeologist. His current archaeological project is sifting the dump from the Temple Mount recently deposited in the Kidron Valley by the Muslim Waqf.
