Authors

André Lemaire (“Solomon & Sheba, Inc.”) is professor of Hebrew and Aramaic philology and epigraphy in the department of Historical and Philological Sciences at the École Pratique des Hautes Études at the Sorbonne in Paris. He has worked for more than 35 years in the fields of Northwest Semitic epigraphy, archaeology, ancient Hebrew literature and history and has published more than ten books and 400 articles on those subjects.

Shlomo Moussaieff (“The ‘New Cleopatra’ and the Jewish Tax”) is an antiquities collector who owns perhaps the largest and most important collection of Biblical artifacts in private hands. He received an honorary doctorate from Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv and was honored by scholars with a festschrift Shlomo: Studies in Epigraphy, Iconography, History and Archaeology in Honor of Shlomo Moussaieff, edited by Robert Deutsch.
