British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter discovers the tomb of Tutankhamun, the best preserved and most intact pharaonic tomb ever found in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings. The tomb provided an unparalleled glimpse into the life of Egypt’s rulers at the height of their New Kingdom empire, which included most of Biblical Canaan.
