Ephraim Stern (“The Other ‘Philistines’”) is emeritus professor of archaeology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, editor of The New Encyclopedia of Archaeological Excavations in the Holy Land, vol. 5 (2008) and the semipopular Hebrew archaeology journal Qadmoniot. A specialist in Phoenician material culture, Stern has directed excavations at Tel Dor, Tel Kedesh and Tel Mevorakh, among other sites.

Andrew Lincoln (“How Babies Were Made”) is professor of New Testament Studies at the University of Gloucestershire. His latest publication, Born of a Virgin? Reconceiving Jesus in the Bible, Tradition and Theology (2013), investigates the topic of Jesus’ conception.

Archaeologist Carol L. Meyers (“‘Eves’ of Everyday Ancient Israel”) holds the Mary Grace Wilson Professorship in the Religious Studies Department at Duke University and is president of the Society of Biblical Literature.
