There are 774,746 words in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible.1 Published in 1611 during the reign of King James I of England, the KJV was translated from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek into English by a team of about four dozen scholars,a all of whom were members of the Church of England. The KJV comprises 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament.
