William H. Stiebing, Jr., (“When Civilization Collapsed: Death of the Bronze Age”) is the Seraphia D. Leyda Teaching Professor of History at the University of New Orleans. The author of Uncovering the Past: A History of Archaeology (Prometheus Books, 1993), he is writing a history of the ancient Near East, to be published by Addison Wesley Longman Publishers.

Stanford University geophysicist Amos Nur (“ Earthquake Storms”) has collaborated with archaeologists for years to understand the impact of earthquakes on ancient civilizations. He is the author of “Earthquake!” BAR 23:04.

Eric H. Cline, when not writing for Archaeology Odyssey, is assistant professor of ancient history and archaeology at George Washington University. A revised version of his “In Pharaoh’s Footsteps: History Repeats Itself in General Allenby’s 1918 March on Megiddo,” AO 01:02, was published as a chapter in his book The Battles of Armageddon (Univ. of Michigan, 2000).
