A professor of New Testament and intertestamental literature at the École Biblique et Archéologique in Jerusalem, Jerome Murphy-O’Connor (“Why Doesn’t God Answer Prayers?”) is the author of several books, including Paul: A Critical Life (Oxford, 1998) and The Holy Land: An Oxford Archaeological Guide (Oxford, 1998).

First-time BR contributor John Crawford (“Caleb the Dog”) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Hebrew Bible program at Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Near Eastern Studies.

Chairman of the Department of Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, in Beer-Sheva, Victor Hurowitz (“The Golden Calf”) has published widely on Assyriology and the Bible, including the book I Have Built You an Exalted House: Temple Building in the Bible in Light of Mesopotamian and Northwest Semitic Writings (Sheffield Academic Press, 1992).
