A specialist in Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine archaeology, Amos Kloner (“Rolling Stone” ) teaches at Bar-Ilan University in Israel. His report on the excavations he directed in the subterranean city of Maresha appeared in BAR 23:02.

David Jacobson (“Sacred Geometry” ) holds a doctorate in materials science from the University of Sussex, England. His interest in the archaeology of Israel developed in the 1970s, when he was teaching at Ben-Gurion University. His book,Under the Temple Mount (London: Palestine Exploration Fund), written with Shimon Gibson, was based on previously unpublished material on the underground remains of the Temple Mount.
