Torleif Elgvin (“Rare Incense Altar Raises Burning Questions”) is an associate professor at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Oslo, Norway. A member of the publishing team for the Dead Sea Scrolls, he is a former director of the Caspari Center for Biblical and Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. Elgvin wrote his Ph.D. dissertation on the most significant book of wisdom found at Qumran, 4QInstruction.

Ronny Reich (“Triple Play: The Many Lives of Jerusalem’s Building Blocks”) directed excavations for the Israel Antiquities Authority’s Jerusalem 3000 project. Since 1994 he has excavated at Robinson’s Arch, the City of David and the Dung Gate. A senior lecturer at Haifa University, he is writing a book about ancient Jewish ritual baths.

Co-author Ya‘akov Billig (“Triple Play: The Many Lives of Jerusalem’s Building Blocks”) has worked at the Israel Antiquities Authority for 15 years, mostly on excavations in Jerusalem, including Reich’s excavation at Robinson’s Arch. He holds a master’s degree from Bar Ilan University, where he wrote his thesis on the aqueducts of ancient Jerusalem.

David Rech (“Bible Study Software”) is director of publisher services for Scribe, a company that develops traditional and electronic books, and is overseeing the conversion of BAS publications into electronic format.
