NOVEMBER 20, 284 A.D. Diocletian, who was responsible for the “Great Persecution” of Christians in the Roman Empire between 303 and 313, begins his reign as emperor.
NOVEMBER 22/23, 626 B.C. Nabu-apla-usur (Nabopolassar) becomes the first king of the neo-Babylonian empire after defeating Assyria on the “twentysixth day of the month Arahsamna.”
NOVEMBER 27, 1095 A.D. Pope Urban II’s tirade at the Council of Clermont against the Muslim encroachment in the Holy Land launches the First Crusade.

DECEMBER 7, 43 B.C. Marc Antony has Cicero beheaded.

DECEMBER 25, 800 A.D. Charlemagne (Karl der Grosse) is crowned Holy Roman Emperor, the first in centuries.
