A Slur Against an Admirable Seminary

It is with regret that I hereby cancel my subscription to BR. My decision is based on your publishing an article (“Unintended Sex Leads to Unintended Fall,” BR 10:04) that grossly misrepresents the actual situation and ridicules one of the most liberal and broad-minded institutions in this country.

For almost one-and-a-half centuries, the Chicago Theological Seminary has fought all forms of bigotry, and reason dictates that its faculty and board would not overnight unanimously convert to some form of McCarthyism.

We’ll Keep Trying; Hope You Will

Periodically I respond to one of your invitations to try BR. I keep hoping that you have changed, but so far I have been disappointed.

Perhaps when you get new columnists, the magazine will become a real review of the Bible and not an ongoing criticism.
