Judaic classics on Disk

Complete Hebrew texts of the Bible, Babylonian Talmud, Maimonides’ Mishneh Torah, the aggadic Midrashim and Rashi’s commentary on the Pentateuch and Talmud are now on a compact disk that can be read by any standard IBM PC equipped with a CD-ROM drive. Produced by Davka Co. with the Institute for Computers in Jewish Life, the disk costs $599. New RSV a Bestseller

Sales of the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) of the Bible has been twice as great as had been anticipated. From May 1990 through 1991, approximately 2.5 million copies of the NRSV have been sold. The U.S. Catholic bishops have granted their imprimatur and the NRSV: Catholic Edition, with the same text but with a different canonical order of the Old Testament, will be available in late 1993 or early 1994. Also available, based on the NRSV, are two concordances, a Greek interlinear New Testament, four study Bibles, eight computer Programs and cassette tapes.
