apodyterium (eh-po-de-TER-ee-um): the dressing room in a Roman bathhouse

ashlar (ASH-lahr): a large stone block with smoothly finished sides for building or paving

caldarium (call-DAIR-ee-um): the hot room in a Roman bath

frigidarium (FRIG-ee-DAIR-ee-um): the cold room in a Roman bath

hypocaust (HYPE-o-cost): short columns and a floor supported by them in a bathhouse that allow hot air to circulate
