Note that the wife of Eleazar and the mother of Phinehas is the daughter of Putiel (Exodus 6:25). The name “Putiel” is also probably an Egyptian loanword with the Hebrew el added as a suffix, meaning “the one whom EL has given.” See Edwin C.
